Our Purpose, Vision & History
At Foster A New Love, our mission is to provide connection, advocacy, and support to individuals impacted by foster care. We are dedicated to making a positive difference in their lives through success stories, valuable resources, volunteer opportunities, chat options, and financial support. By fostering a community of care and understanding, we aim to empower and uplift those in or impacted by foster care.
This was an idea that stemmed from the want to support as many people as possible. The passion of wanting to be the resource that was personally needed. So after long consideration the idea and the vision of this nonprofit was created!
About the Founder
Aja McAllum
Aja McAllum is a student at Michigan State University majoring in K-12 Special Education with an endorsement in 3-6 General Education. She was in foster care herself, also being in a legal guardianship. As she grew up she began to not only understand but experience the multitude of inequities dealt with by foster care. She understood that there needed to be something done about it. So she took it upon herself to bring light to this fact and bring a community filled with support.
How We Gather Funds
Maintaining financial stability and transparency is crucial to our operations. We ensure that every donation and contribution is utilized effectively to support our programs and initiatives.
