Welcome!

Hello and welcome to my new nonprofit and its website! I’m so pleased that you were able to make time to come explore this page and this nonprofit in the same breath! I just wanted to make a welcome post so that you all can read a bit more into what this is all about and some ideas for future events! So if you’re interested in knowing more, or even just seeing what we’re going to be up to please keep reading further and share this with someone else!


So let’s start with the very simple question, “What exactly is this?” This is “Foster A New Love”, a nonprofit dedicated to the support and community of those impacted by foster care. We aim to provide support through accepting donations of food, clothing, money, personal items, and other needed sources. We promote community by implementing a mentorship program and a space where people can connect with one another. This nonprofit also advocates for those in foster care by providing resources for those who don’t know about foster care and are willing to learn more. The first step in doing and being better is knowing better, so we make sure to inform as many people as possible.


Another question you may have is, “Why even start this?” I am someone who has gone through the foster care process. I have experienced the placement process, and the process of putting someone back in foster care. I understand the loss of identity and the fight between happiness and survival, while I have already gone through it I don’t want to force someone who doesn’t need to go through it to have to. I wanted to provide a resource that could go against that harmful belief that all kids in foster care are basically alone. So out of that belief and passion of foster care support and advocacy this non profit was created! I pray that this becomes something that can grow and rise to something that can truly make a difference! I really think about Psalms 68:5-6 and Isaiah 1:17 that both speak about standing up for what is right and protecting those who are fatherless. 


Lastly, we can talk about what we have planned next! Well, I want to start off with an opening community event! This event will be focused on bringing people together and also introducing the non profit officially. I also wanted to begin to plan out the mentorship program, this will connect those impacted by foster care with someone who can help guide them and support them. These mentors will be dedicated to the support of their mentees and also help them foster a sense of pride, excellence, and community through interaction between each other and the program itself! So stay tuned for these events and other announcements that are coming!
